Ironically, the northern coast of Peru is sunniest during December through April, when the rest of the country is in the rainy season. The overall climate of Peru's northern coast is very dry, making it attractive to visitors any time of the year.
In cities such as Piura and Máncora clouds are rare, and rain is almost non-existent. The busiest time is June through August, during the rest of the country's dry season. The dry season coincides with the North American and European summers, and is the time when the majority of foreigners visit Peru. The North, however, has significantly less tourism than the South, so even a visit during high tourist season should afford tourists with plenty of available accommodation and activity options.
