Museo Municipal Vicús is the city's cultural gem. A wide variety of archaeological finds are displayed here, accompanied by explanations of the development of the Tallán, Yunga and Vicús cultures. Although a small museum, it has a quite impressive collection of gold artifacts housed in the basement. It also hosts temporary art exhibits. The museum is free, but a small entry is charged for the gold vault.
