While in Piura expect to partake in a lot of traditional Peruvian foods, such as cebiche, which is raw fish soaked in lemon juice, other meats such as chicken and beef and lots of rice. You will find restaurants serving this sort of food on practically every corner. Some are better than others, use your best judgment and choose one that looks clean and reliable. Don't be too picky though, sometimes the holes in the walls are the places with the best food.
If you are craving something more exotic, there are a few options in the area that offer slightly more exotic fare, such as pizza, sandwiches and salads.
