Visitors are warned frequently about walking beyond the Avenida España ring that circles the city, as well as walking in the vicinity of the bus stations. Other problematic areas, even in daylight, are the Buenos Aires Beach and the roads near Chan Chan, Huaca Arco Iris, Huaca Esmeraldas (especially) and Huaca El Brujo. It is better to take tours through agencies to these places or hire a taxi. Take exceptional care at the bus stop to Huacas Luna and Sol and at the Terminal Terrestre Interurbano, where many drug addicts and drunks hang out on the street, waiting to rob pedestrians. Best to take a taxi.
