Travel Tips Types:
Climate, peak seasons, Holidays and festivals
Trujillo has a warm, dry climate. Temperatures average 23°C (73°F) to 16°C (61°F). During El Niño years, temperatures rise and rains drench the region.
Some of the festivals Trujillo hosts are:
January-February—Festival de Marinera, a feast of the majestic Marinera dance with contestants arriving from all over the country. Awards are given to the best couple, best outfit and the beauty queen. Also Peruvian paso (pacing) horse exhibits and contests are showcased.
September—Festival Internacional de la Primavera, the City of Eternal Spring throws open the proverbial door to the season with cultural and other activities, and a beauty pageant. Marinera dancers and Pervian paso horses appear on the scene, too.
September 29—National Peruvian Paso Horse Contest, in this, the highlight of the Spring festival, riders rein in their horses to dance the Marinera.
