Occasional live music and heaping plates of traditional criolla cooking make Mochica a popular choice among restaurants in Trujillo. Characterized by white plastic chairs, a large TV in the front room and waiters decked out in black ties, this place is praised for providing well-prepared food at a reasonable price. A few of the favorite dishes include roasted guinea pig and parilladas (mixed grilled meats), and for the sea-struck customer fresh fish like corvina (sea bass). If you're feeling like a big meal in the middle of the day, you can also try one of their inexpensive fixed lunch menus. Open daily from 8 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.
