Getting to and away

Long distance buses to Lima and points between (including Máncora, Piura, Chiclayo and Trujillo) depart from Avenida Tumbes, blocks (cuadras) 1 to 11.

 

To Piura: Cruz del Sur, El Dorado and other companies, $6-10, 4-5 hours.

 

To Chiclayo: Cruz del Sur, El Dorado, Emtrafesa, Transporte Chiclayo, $8-12, 9 hours.

 

To Trujillo: Emtrafesa, El Sol and others, $10-14, 10 hours.

 

To Lima: Cruz del Sur, Cial, others, $15-28, 16-24 hours.

 

On Avenida Tumbes: Cruz del Sur (No. 556), Cial (No. 317), Entrafesa (No. 581), Transportes Chiclayo (No. 466), Oltursa (No. 307), CIVA (no. 518). El Dorado is at Piura 459.

 

Combis to Zorritos, Máncora and other beach communities leave from Mariscal Castilla, cuadra 3 (when full, 6 a.m.-6 p.m.)

 

To Zorritos: $0.70, 20 minutes

 

To Máncora: $2, 2 hours

 

Combi vans also leave from Mariscal Castilla, in front of the market. CIFA (Avenida Tumbes 570, Tel.: 52-7120) has direct service to Machala and Guayaquil, Ecuador, with stops at the immigration posts ($4-6).

 

Aeropuerto Pedro Canga Rodríguez is on Avenida Panamericana Norte, Kilometer 1276. Lan Peru (Hotel Rizzo, Jirón Bolognesi 216, Tel.: 52-1228) flies three times per week to Lima (Wednesday, Thursday, Sunday at 6:30 p.m., $144-190 one way, 2 hours).
