Travel Tips Types:
Climate, peak seasons, Holidays and festivals

By Lorraine Caputo

The City of Eternal Summer lives up to its name. The mean annual temperature is 26°C (79°F) during the day, dipping to 19°C (66°F)  at night. The hottest months are January through March. When El Niño comes calling, rains can be torrential with temperatures that rise above 40°C (104°F).

Weekends are busy in Tumbes, shoppers cross to either side of the border in search of deals. Vacation months (mid-December-March, mid-July-early August) see many visitors coming to enjoy the warm waters off this coast. Tumbes celebrates its tourism week in October (dates vary) through cultural and tourist activities.
