Getting to and away Types:
Getting to and away

By Lorraine Caputo

The stop (paradero) is at Parque Grau in the Villar section of the village. Bus companies are located north of the park, along the Panamericana. South of Puente Los Pozos are El Dorado and Flores; north, Cial and Civa. You can  flag down a bus or combi (van) heading your direction anywhere along the highway.

To Tumbes: combis and shared taxis —  20 minutes ($.70)

To Máncora: minivans or buses — mostly 7-9 a.m. and in mid-afternoon, 1.5 hours ($1.70)

To Piura: frequent buses (especially El Dorado), 3.75-4 hours ($5-6)

Fares for destinations farther away are about the same as from Tumbes.
