Zorritos Services
Zorritos' tourism office in the Municipalidad operates only in the summer high season.
The only bank in Zorritos is Banco de la Nación, changing US cash dollars and providing MoneyGram services (Monday-Friday 8 a.m.-5:30 p.m., Saturday 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Avenida Faustino Piaggio 194, Balneario Zorritos). There are no casas de cambios. Some businesses, like REstaurante Turístico El Brujo, exchanges cash US dollars. The nearest ATM and traveler check facilities are in Tumbes.
A few locutorios and even fewer internet cafés operate in Zorritos. Kumb@l.net handily provides both services, including international calls. Internet costs $0.35 per hour (daily 8:30 a.m.-11 p.m. Corner of Plaza Grau, Villar). Serpost, the post office, is near the market (Monday, Wednesday, Friday 9-10:30 a.m. Avenida Grau 519).
Centro de Salud Zorritos provides medical assistance to the village (daily 8 a.m.-8 p.m. Avenida República del Perú, across from the gas station, Villar, Tel.: 54-4158). Zorritos has few pharmacies, mostly located in the Villar sector.
Lavandería Ferny can do up your dirty duds for $1.70 per kilo (daily 8 a.m.-10 p.m. Avenida República del Perú 088, Tel.: 971-2978).
At Hands & Surf Escuela, established by the international organization Surfing Solidaridad, Coco teaches the sport (Restaurant Sun Beach, Avenida República del Perú 088, Tel.: 971-2978, E-mail: cocobighead@msn.com).
