Upon arrival to the airport you may find vendors renting cell phones for the duration of your stay in Peru. Many travelers have had a positive experience with the Peru Rent a Cell company. In general, all incoming calls are free, long distance rates are lower, no international/roaming charges, there is a free concierge service and rates are lower than prepaid rates. There are a couple of plans to choose from.
Plan A has an activation fee of $9.99 and the rate is $1.49 per minute, but no charge for incoming calls. Plan B has no activation fee, a daily charge of $9.99 and a rate of .99 per minute.
