Approximately 2km north of Caraz you'll find the Chavín ruins of Tumshukaiko. There is no fee or sign, and the ruins are only partially excavated and it takes the shape of a pyramid with 7 tiers (very little is visible). There is also an underground tunnel that leads to a stone chair. Be sure to take a flashlight, and know that you will get dirty in the spots where its a tight fit.
