V!VA User‘s Description
Caraz is affectionately known to some as Caraz Dulzura (Sweet Caraz) thanks to the healthy sweet tooth that all the locals seem to have. Window after window display sweet cakes and other pastries while ice cream shops proudly serve homemade treats to customers. If you are in the mood for something more substantial (and not quite as sweet) there is no shortage of cafés and restaurants serving local Peruvian dishes, hearty meat entrees, cuy (guinea pig) and veggie dishes too! Ask around for local recommendations with stunning scenery.
