Tours in the Central Peruvian Andes are aimed at the adventure seeker and fearless mountaineer. Whichever guide or operator you choose to lead you to the ultimate vista, be sure to research his experience and certifications. Many agencies will organize tours that include guides, equipment, food, transportation and porters. If you are more confident in your trekking skills and would prefer an individual guide (not necessarily all of the “luxuries” that come with an organized tour), it can be arranged. Be advised that it pays off to research the different itineraries that tour companies offer, follow up on reviews of different treks and of course, heed the advice of other travelers who have been there.
