Andes Top Peru offers five trekking routes in the Cordillera Huayhuash, ranging from four to 15 days. Most treks will summit the Yerupajá, the second largest mountain peak in Peru. A 4-day journey will include a stop over at the Jahuacoa Lagoon, whilst longer treks afford the possibility of also visiting the Laguna Viconga (11 days) as well as the Huanoca Pampa (12 days), an astrology complex built in the late 15th century. Two days of acclimatization to the altitude in Huaraz, before climbing the Huayhuash Mountains, comes highly recommended, so be sure to include this when calculating your dates. Tour Andes also offers a private bus service to Chiquian direct from Lima.
