To rest your weary bones after some energetic hiking or climbing, there are hot springs five kilometers away from Huaraz in Monterrey. As to be expected, whitewater rafting and horseback riding options are also available. Or check out some of the local historical sites, such as Chavín de Huántar, the remnants of an early civilization from this area. There is plenty to do in and around Huaraz to keep you occupied for a number of days.
