In terms of museums in Huaraz, Museo Arquelógico de Ancash is one of the most extensive. Inside you can browse a well-organized collection of stone monoliths and huacos from the Recuay culture (200-700 AD) and Chavin culture (800-200 BC). Upstairs there are displays of pottery, textiles, and metal objects from later Wari, Chimu, and Inca cultures.
