Huaraz has a little bit of everything to satisfy the wide variety of appetites that traipse through the city. Start the day with an early morning continental breakfast of freshly baked breads and jams. As your tummy starts grumbling in the afternoon, try one of the local dishes prepared with guinea pig, poultry, pork or lamb. No meal is complete without a popular bowl of soup (if you find you really like the guinea pig, try the picante de cuy soup, a spicy treat served with boiled potatoes).
