La Casona Monstante is a quaint little hotel just one block from Chachapoyas’ Plaza de Armas. It is charmingly situated in a 19th century building, and received a national award for their restoration of the building. The hotel also boasts a massive garden featuring some 1500 of the exotic plants and flowers of the region. The wooden floors, balconies and staircases give the hotel a warmer feel than the usual concrete construction of the rest of the region. This hotel is a great option for reasonable prices, convenient location and Peruvian charm.
