The tourism office (on the plaza; Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - noon, 2 p.m. - 4 p.m., Saturday, 8 a.m. - 1 p.m.) has a small museum, as does the church next door. Across the street is “Santuario de Kiocta,” storefront of guide José Espinosa (tours to local sites or four-day trek to Gran Vilaya; mixed reports). Three internet cafés surround the plaza (1.50 soles /$0.50 per hour). The correo is at Jr. Sucre 253 (Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 1 p.m.). There is a hospital and several boticas. The only bank does not exchange money or have an ATM. The mercado central on Av. de la Vega is open daily, 6 a.m. - 4 p.m.
