V!VA User‘s Description
Hualhuas is a small town a few miles to the north of Huancayo known for fine weaving. The style and materials they use here are very traditional. The visitor will find a waide array of colorful tapestries, rugs, and more. The quality also varies greatly, with some of the more artistic and intricate pieces going for up to several hundred dollars (but don't worry if that's out of your budget: you'll find something you can afford).
Hualhuas is not big enough to have hotels or much in the way of restaurants: most visitors day trip from Huancayo (about 20 minutes away by bus).
