Ayacucho Shopping - Shopping Ayacucho - Peru

There’s plenty of souvenirs and crafts to be purchased throughout Ayacucho. Perhaps one of the cheapest places to stock up on artesanía is at the Mercado Centenario Carlos F. Vivanco (Jr. 28 de Julio 344). This huge warehouse sells tapestries, bags, hats, flutes, ceramics and other locally made crafts in an area to the left after entering the main door on Jirón 28 de Julio. This large market also sells cheap food in stands near the front, in addition to other apparel and domestic goods. The Centro Turistico Cultural San Cristóbal (Jr. 28 de Julio 178, near San Martin) is shopping and dining in one. This attractive center is home to art galleries, artisan and flower shops, and several open-air cafés and restaurants in its central courtyard.
