Hualhuas is a small town, 12 kilometers (7 mi) miles to the north of Huancayo, known for fine weaving. The style and materials used here are very traditional. Visitors will find a wide array of colorful tapestries, rugs and more. The quality varies greatly, with some of the more artistic and intricate pieces selling for up to several hundred dollars. Don't worry if that's out of your budget, though; there are more affordable ones as well. Most people visit Hualhaus for the day from Huancayo (about 20 min away by bus). The town itself is not big enough to have hotels or many restaurants.

Other places nearby Hualhuas: San Jerónimo de Tunán and Cochas Grande/Cochas Chico.
