Hotel El Dorado encapsulates charm in the heart of Iquitos. If you're looking to get away from the mainstream hotels, this option is a few blocks away from the plaza. Like its sister hotel, the El Dorado Plaza Hotel, it offers cable TV, airport shuttle, and a good restaurant, Las Rocas. The pool is also open to restaurant diners. The difference between the two hotels is the upkeep. While the Plaza Hotel remains modern, this hotel has been around for a while longer, which shows in its rooms. However, it is a still a good option if you are looking to pinch a few pennies while in Peru.
