The Cock of the Rock Lodge, located in the Kosñipata Valley of southeastern Peru, is named for its large displays of Peru’s national bird: the Cock of the Rock. It is located with the Manu cloud forest, which is relatively cool and mosquito-free. The lodge has ten double-occupancy rooms with private bathrooms, screened windows and mosquito nets, and a private balcony to take in the amazing views. Meals at the lodge are served in a screened dining room. Vegetarian and other special-diet foods can be provided upon request. The Cock of the Rock Lodge is a 110-mile car ride from Cusco which takes 6 to 8 hours. The views along the road are amazing, so many prefer that the car ride last longer in order to fully enjoy the sights.
