Tours usually consist of traveling by boat down the Amazon to see local jungle communities or setting up camp for a few days at one of the many jungle lodges and taking short excursions from there. Itineraries are endless and choices abundant, more than enough to cover all tastes and travel types--from natural adventures to cultural encounters.
One of the most popular spots to arrange a tour is Iquitos, located in the northern jungle on the Amazon River. Amazon jungle sites not to miss include the Pacaya-Samiria Reserve, Lake Quistococha, Bellavista, Nahua-Kugapakori Reserved Zone and Manu Biosphere Reserve.
