Hotel Don Carlos

Don Carlos claims that it is “a hotel for people who like nature and adventure,” and to that end its setting atop a small hill providing a great view of the Tambopata Nature Reserve is to its credit. It is one of the few high-priced (by Puerto Maldonado standards), as well as one of the oldest, hotels in town. Besides the air-conditioned rooms and stocked fridges, it also offers an airport shuttle, a swimming pool, room service (which includes delivering pizzas and grilled chickens), card tables, organized soccer games and even babysitting.
