The name means "mad cow," but don't be put off by the name: the food is not only safe, but exceptionally tasty. Steak marinated in Peruvian pisco, garlic-honey chicken wings and tacacho (green plantain, rolled, fried and served with Creole sauce) are among the many delicious items served up in a funky boho ambience, complete with local art work displayed and on-sale, and one of the more original and interesting gift shops. Vaka Loka is open everyday from noon to 11:30 p.m., and will take Visa cards. The average price for a dish is five dollars, quite a bargain considering the very high value of the food.
