From no-frills hostels to jungle lodges, there is a variety of hotels in Puerto Maldonado. Accommodation tends to be on the pricey side, except for the few hostels in town, so if you are on a budget, consider booking in advance. Most have rooms with the standard air conditioning, TV, phone and hot water. However, if amenities are important to you, check and make sure that your choice has what you need.
Puerto Maldonado is on the edge of the Amazon, and is often a last stop for travelers heading into jungle. It also has a couple of lodges, for those who want to see some of the jungle but do not have either the time or the desire to dive too deeply into the area.
