Located outside of Ica on Lake Huacachina, Hostal Rocha is a good option for the budget traveler or backpacker who wantes to spend some time at the lake. The hostel's 15 rooms vary in size, ammenities and price, with some having private bathrooms or balconies. A volleyball court, a pool, and a camping area are also located behind the hostal itself. It rents bikes and sandboards, and you can arrange desert tours from there. Breakfast not included. The hostel does not accept credit cards.

Worst Manager Ever

This hostel, while cheap with a pool & poolside bar, never had toilet paper and the shower curtain was covered in mold. But worse was the manager. He pressured us to use him for sandboarding. When we did, he reneged on the negotiated price, his driver was 30 minutes late and he put us in a sandbuggy that was clearly having problems. The sandbuggy broke down three times, they finally replaced it with one that didn't have enough seats or working seat belts, and they cut our time short. The manager then said he'd refund the money and later denied this. He was manipulative, lying, rude, disrespectful, and condescending. It was the worst tourist/business transaction experience I've ever encountered.
