The Ica Cathedral was originally constructed back in the 18th century, but was remodeled in 1814. The Baroque style interior is evident in the pulpit and altars and the exterior of the church tends to be neoclassical. It was originally part of a Jesuit monumental complex. The Cathedral unfortunately suffered quite extensive damage: the bell towers and apse walls were partly destroyed and the apse roof partially collapsed.
