The Lord of Luren is considered the patron saint of Ica and is celebrated during the Holy Week and the third week of October. The neoclassical sanctuary was built in his honor and during these celebrations, thousands of believers follow his statue in a procession. Unfortunately the sanctuary was damaged in an earthquake, and will be under repair for an estimated five years.
A provisional shrine is being built a block west at Avenida Cutervo and Lima.
