Hotel Mossone

Location:
Huacachina Lake
Ica, Peru

Hotel

By Christopher Minster

On the shores of Huacachina Lake, the venerable Hotel Mossone was a plush resort back in the 1920s whose visitors included Peru's elite. Time and desert winds took their toll, however, and the Mossone has seen better days, although a recent restoration project has made a lot of difference. It is still a charming place and probably the fanciest hotel in the Ica region (it is certainly the most famous).

There is an outdoor pool and modern facilities. Sandboards and mountain bikes are available for the adventure crowd.
