Getting to and away from Ica

Most of the major bus companies are just a few blocks west of the Plaza de Armas: Soyuz / Peru Bus and Flores in the Terminal de Ica (Avenida Matías Manzanilla 164), Cruz del Sur (Fray Ramón Rojas s/n) and Ormeño (Lambayeque 180). Cial is quite far from the center, at the roundabout on Manzanilla.

To Lima: Flores (every 15 minutes 5 a.m.-8 a.m., $6.70), Soyuz / Peru Bus

(every 15 minutes, 24 hours per day, $8.35-9.35), Cruz del Sur (1:30 p.m., 4:30 p.m., 7:30 p.m., $18.70-22), Ormeño (1 p.m., $5-13.35), 4.5-5 hours.

To Pisco (San Clemente): Soyuz / Peru Bus (every 15 minutes, 24 hours per day, $1.35,

1 hour) or any Lima-bound bus to the San Clemente crossroads. (See Getting To and Away From Pisco for more information).

To Paracas: Ormeño (3:30 p.m., $7), Cruz del Sur (1:30 p.m., 4:30 p.m., $7-10), 1 hour.

To Nasca: Flores (half-hourly 5 a.m.-6:30 p.m., $2.35), Soyuz / Peru Bus (half-hourly,

$3-3.35), Ormeño (1 p.m., 6 p.m., 8:30 p.m., $2.70-8:35), 2-3 hours.

To Tacna: Cruz del Sur (6 p.m., 9:30 p.m., $40.35-46.70), Ormeño (3 p.m., 6 p.m., $20-23.35), 15 hours.

To Arequipa: Cruz del Sur (6 departures 5 p.m.-10:30 p.m., $17-45), Ormeño (1 a.m., 3 buses 7-10 p.m., $20-30), 10.5-11 hours.

To Cusco: Cruz del Sur (6 p.m., 9:30 p.m., $47-60, 15.5 hours).

All of Ormeño's international bus routes pass through Ica. To La Paz: 1 p.m., $90.

To Huacachina: Hail a cab on the street ($1-1.70) or take "official" ones from inside the bus depots ($1.35-1.70). Prices are per cab. There are no combis.

The airport is Aeródromo de Ica (Carretera Panamericana Sur, Km 299, Tel.: 25-6230). At present, there is no passenger service.
