Transportation

V!VA User‘s Description

Since Ica is conveniently situated on the Panamerican highway, it is also on many of the main bus routes, especially from Lima. Buses from Lima operate day and night. It is worth checking out OrmeƱo, a bus company that offers buses from Lima on the hour at 9 a.m, 2 p.m, 4 p.m, 8 p.m and 10 p.m. These buses take 3 hours 45 minutes and cost anywhere between $7-10, depending on the level of comfort that you are looking for. Otherwise, there are many frequent buses traveling between Lima and Ica. There are also plenty of buses between Nazca and Ica, with trip duration taking around 2.5 hours, while it takes around 2 hours to get to Pisco. If your onward journey is to Arequipa, the trip is fairly long-haul, taking 12 hours, and often on overnight buses.
