Slip into the sunny-colored retreat of the Restaurant Vegetariano El Paraíso. This two-room eatery provides a respiite from the bustling city. Quickly, Doña Marta and her staff will be at your table to take your order. Traditional Peruvian favorites like bistec a lo pobre (steak with egg), milanesa (breaded steak) and lomo saltado are all prepared with soy “meat.” Pastas and omelettes are also on the menu. The breakfast and the three-course lunch specials are especially easy on the wallet. Breakfast $1, lunch special $2, à la carte $1-4. Open Monday – Thursday 8 a.m. – 8:30 p.m., Friday and Sunday 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., closed Saturday.
