A high brick wall along Calle Lima invites you peer through the wrought-iron gates to see what lies beyond. The surprise is Hotel Quinta de los Limoneros, an old country-style mansion-turned hostel. The rooms are set around the edge of beautiful gardens. All have private bath, though no wall windows; the spaces are illuminated by skylights. In the center of the compound is the large common room, a perfect place to kick back and read or catch up on the journal. If you have your own tent, Los Limoneros also allows camping in the lower level of the garden, charging an economical price.
