Location:
Nasca, Peru

Ruin

By Carlos

Located some 40 km west of Nasca, is one of the strangest cemeteries on Earth. The place is called the Death Valley, and it is inhabited by a group of farmers who make a living plundering the ancient tombs of their ancestors. The Death Valley has been totally destroyed by this people, who are also known as Huaqueros, or graver robbers. On the desert surface, one can see hundreds of bones, skulls, complete human bodies, and old tombs. The bodies are found naked due to the robberies, but their state of preservation is amazing.
