Salkantay Trek Machu Picchu 5 DaysDay 1: Cusco - Mollepata - Soraypampa. Salkantay Trek

We will be picked up early from the hotel, our car will be passing by the hotel at around 4:30 a.m. to 5:00 am, and taken to the traditional village of mollepata (2950 m). along the way, we will stop in some sites. also, we will be able to see humantay mountain (5917 m). then, from mollepata we will continue to soraypampa, in the way we will stop to eat lunch, and take a short break. afterwards, it's back to the trail to lake soroypampa, our first campsite. this place provides us a fantastic sight of the immensity of Salkantay mountain; we can see diverse and typical andean plants and animals.

Day 2: Soraypampa - Chaullay. Salkantay Trek

After breakfast, we begin the trek, ascending to Salkantay Trek pass, just above 4500 meters,of this point we can see the glaciers of Salkantay, after we will descend to the site of huayracpunku (and lunch) and take a short break, after we will continue with our journey of 3 hours until arayanniyoc (2890 m) or chaullay (2920 masl) for dinner and camp.

Day 3: Chaullay - la playa - Santa Maria. Salkantay Trek

Our activity will begin at 7:00 am, walk for 5 hours until collpabamba (also called be jungle), this day we will see waterfalls, fruit trees, a flora variety, the coca plantations, varieties of orchids and birds, if we're lucky we'll see the famous "cock rock.". we will have lunch in wiñaypoqo site. after a rest we continue walking until you reach a place called beach (playa to 2350 mslm). in this site we will have dinner and camp.
it may be that on this day come to santa maria, where we can have a bath in the hot springs; this will depend on the group.

Day 4: Santa Maria - Hidroelectrica - Aguas Calientes. Salkantay Trek

today, we start our ascent very early in the morning on an incan trail that is in a very good state of preservation. our destination is the patallacta archeological complex, where we can see the lost city of machu picchu and the mountains in the eyebrow of the jungle. after this, we will descend to the hydroelectric power plant, in this place we will have the last lunch with all our support people. then we will continue to aguas calientes town.

Day 5: Aguas Calientes / Machu Picchu / Cusco Salkantay Trek

Today for a prefect visit to Machu Picchu, we have to leave early (5am), we will breakfast at the hotel and then catch the bus to Machu Picchu (2400 m). At the archeological site, we will enjoy a guided tour of the most interesting sections of this site, one of the most famous places in the all world. We will see the Intihuatana, the temple of the three windows, temple of the moon, the terraces, ceremonial fountains, the gateway of the sun, and other sectors of this impressive site. In the afternoon, a bus awaits us to take us back down to Aguas Calientes, where we will board the train to Ollantaytambo or Poroy, from the train station we will come back to the hotel in Cusco.
