Plaza 19 De Abril - City Plaza Tacuarembó - Uruguay

Tacuarembó’s largest plaza provides benches, grass and plenty of shade for a pleasant picnic, while local children ride their bicycles around. The paved circular center focuses on a statue of Uruguay’s national war hero, General Artigas, while the dominating pink Art Nouveau structure of the Intendencia Municipal (City Hall) sits on the east side, next to the cathedral. On a warm evening, the plaza is a popular place to share a drink with friends, and the buildings are nicely lit.
