Inagurated on January 9th, 1910, Colonia’s Plaza de Toros breathed just two short-lived years of life as an active bullfighting ring. Today it serves as a popular tourist spot. On any given day one can spot travelers scooting on mopeds around the bullring's perimeter, marveling at its grand architecture. Touring inside the ring is a bit tricky as it is officially closed to visitors. However, local guides will take you there—through a break in the gate.
