Red Hostel - Hostel Montevideo - Uruguay
Red Hostel is set in a converted colonial house in the center of Montevideo, just around the corner from the Plaza Intendencia. It gets a little noisy, but most people don't come here to stay long. At one point, this was the only hostel in Montevideo. The owners decided to paint it red, hence the name. The communal kitchen, free wireless internet, and comfy couches for lounging make guests feel right at home here. Beer is sold in the hostel itself—just ask. Late night, the party carries on up on the roof. Single, double and triple rooms are available in addition to the dorms. Cash only.
