Location:
Tristan Narvaja and 18 de Julio
Montevideo, Uruguay
Market
Sunday's fair on the Calle Tristan Narvaja, in El Centro, is a hodgepodge of antiques, old records, artesanías, used books, practical goods and even an impromptu pet store. It doesn't stop there though: There's also a farmer's market medley of fruit, vegetables and fresh fish. During the week, Tristan Narvaja's many used-book stores, copy shops, and cafeteria-style eateries cater to students of Uruguay's national university, la Universidad de la República. On Sundays the street becomes even more bohemian with the fair's many eccentric goods on display.
