Palacio Salvo
Spending time reflecting on the unusual architecture of Palacio Salvo is an integral part of any visitor’s stay in Montevideo. The strange-looking building which looms over Plaza Independencia is a fine example of obscure modern architecture. At one point, this eyesore was the tallest building in South America. In fact, Palacio Salvo is so intriguing that it has become a both a symbol and landmark of Montevideo.
