Bremen's Apartments are cozy and comfortable, though somewhat lacking in adequate natural light. The apart hotel is an excellent choice for those who need to be in the center, but don’t want to stay in la Ciudad Vieja. The area is not very safe at night, but the owners have 24-hour surveillance cameras and keep a guard outside the on-site bar, Bremen Pub, until midnight to patrol the apartments. Take taxis after midnight and ask the taxi driver to wait until you get the door open if you're traveling alone. The trade-off is that apartments come with completely equipped kitchens, refrigerators, laundry machines and coffee-makers. These apartments are more spacious than any apart hotel counterpart you’ll find in Pocitos, which tend to be more like hotel rooms, where the kitchen consists of a sink, microwave and hot plate. The living area has fax, a kitchen table, a couch, cable TV and VCR. Don’t forget the excellent selection of German VHS’s also stocked in the apartments. (If you don’t speak German, you’ll get a real chuckle out of some of the campy video-sleeves.) Apartments can be rented for the night; discounts are offered on longer stays. Single room apartments are $38 a night, plus $5 for each additional person; Two-bedroom apartments are $65 a night, plus $10 for each additional guest. Recommended for groups or travelers staying for longer than a week.
