Situated on Ciudad Vieja's bar and restaurant row, the location can't be beat: the hotel is right across the street from the luxurious Plaza Fuerte on the corner of Peatonal Sarandí. The Hotel Palacio may have been considered palatial in its hey day, though it's doubtful anyone would attach it the same moniker today. Nevertheless, the old hotel provides clean and ample private rooms mere steps away from the city's hottest bars. Some of the rooms have large terraces overlooking Bartolomé Mitre. Staff can also arrange laundry service and luggage storage. Singles and doubles run between US $17 and $25 per night, depending on whether you choose private or shared bath or opt for the rooms with terrace.
