Comprising the bottom floor of a building constructed in 1844, Café Bacacay looks the part, with black and white checkered linoleum flooring, simple wood tables, and a bar stretching across the entirety of the back wall. Side windows also overlook the distinguished Teatro Solis. Café Bacacay captures the atmosphere of a typical rioplatense café and dresses it up in elegance, with an international menu of scrumptious sandwiches and salads. The restaurant charges a price for its sophistication, but who else is going to make you that mozzarella, tomato, basil panini you've been dreaming about? (Prices range from $30 to $240). Take your leisurely afternoon coffee inside our outside. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, anytime of day is a good time to go to Café Bacacay. The café is located just around the corner from the Torres GarcÃa Museum. Monday through Saturday, from 9 a.m.- close.
