This Pocitos legend serves one of the best parrilladas in Montevideo. The family-style El Tigre is intimate and also tightly packed, a testament to the quality of the food. When the weather is nice there are also tables outside. Don’t come before 10:30 or 11, the usual Uruguayan dinner hour, unless you're looking to be the only ones eating. The restaurant delivers too. El Tigre accepts credit cards but eating here won’t take a big bite out of your budget. Prices are a little higher than downtown, but you'll leave here contentedly full for $250 and under. Daily, noon - 3 p.m., 7 p.m. - 1 a.m.

A real Uruguay Bar

It is one of the only places I know that succesfully went through the process of revamping itself without losing its essence.
Besides that, the food is great and the family of hardworking people that runs the place delivers family values, quality and a good service.
