El Viejo y El mar takes the cake when it comes to the overall dining experience. Located right on the water in Pocitos, the atmosphere and décor are unparalleled. Named after Hemingway's 1952 novel, The Old Man and The Sea, and set in a building made to look like a boat, this seafood restaurant is steeped in marine ambience. Sit outside in small cabaña booths or around deck-style tables and chairs and enjoy the fresh air coming off the Río de la Plata. For groups, try the paella and a bottle of wine. At night, come in for a beer and a few picadas. The menu is international seafood and also includes pastas and salads. You pay for the view: prices here range between $250 and $450. Open for lunch and dinner. Monday-Sunday, noon-1 a.m, Friday and Saturday, noon-2 a.m
