La Ronda Café

La Ronda is a little piece of hipster heaven, decorated from floor to ceiling with laminated record covers. A wrap-around bar forms the centerpiece of this small hangout. The last café bar on Ciudadela before hitting the rambla, La Ronda is a little bit quieter and more laid-back than most of its Ciudad Vieja counterparts. People come here for the company, the delicious Uru-Mexican food and the playlist, which alternates between bands like Tom Waits, the Pixies and Velvet Underground. Monday-Friday, 12 p.m.-close, Saturday-Sunday, 7.30 p.m-close.

Traveler Reviews of La Ronda Café

An Artist's Haven

Amazing place where Latin artists conglomerate to talk about poetry, philosophy, music and life over coffee or a glass of wine. You will even hear snippets of French and German as lost travelers find a little home in this funky, bohemian place. Advice: Come in a group. It's not a place to be alone. And yes, it will look rather sketchy but it's safe and peaceful if you stick to the crowd and near-abouts of the bar.
